‘Rangers January priority should be agreement for Stuart Findlay and Hearts teammate’
Rangers have been urged to sign Hearts hero Stuart Findlay on a pre-contract agreement in the winter transfer window.
Danny Rohl was handed his first league loss at Tynecastle Park on 21 December, with the 30-year-old centre-back opening the scoring for the Jam Tarts before Lawrence Shankland scored the second just before the break.
Ally McCoist was baffled by the defending before Findlay’s goal, with only Jayden Meghoma going out to close the short corner played by the home side.
After an encouraging start, the Glaswegian outfit eventually succumbed as Youssef Chermiti scored a consolation in the 95th minute in the 2-1 loss.

Stuart Findlay and Cammy Devlin should be Rangers targets
Jonny McFarlane wants to see the Gers prioritise signing Findlay and Cammy Devlin from Hearts.
The Scottish defender and Australia international are in the final years of their contracts at Tynecastle Park, and the Ibrox hierarchy have been told to take advantage of it.
While the centre-back found the back of the net, the midfielder also caught the attention with his performance against the Light Blues.
McFarlane wrote on X on 21 December: “Rangers’ first order of January business should be to tie up Stuart Findlay and Cammy Devlin on pre-contract deals.”
The journalist added: “The reinvent the wheel, find a diamond in the rough recruitment strategy has to be adapted to include the league’s best players, available for nothing.”
Going into January, Rohl has arguably been given another transfer headache by Jack Butland, whose error led to Shankland’s goal.
Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises have Tony Bloom obstacle
Tony Bloom has undoubtedly put Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises to shame, with the Englishman’s investment in Hearts paying off.
While the Jam Tarts sit at the top of the table after hiring Derek McInnes, Rangers have already had to sack Russell Martin, Kevin Thelwell and Patrick Stewart after a poor start to the season.
| Player | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Minutes played |
| Stuart Findlay | 18 | 4 | 1 | 1604 |
| Cammy Devlin | 18 | 0 | 0 | 1617 |
While the US consortium weren’t shy about spending money in the summer at Ibrox, they certainly had the wrong people in charge of the recruitment.
With Bloom’s ambition running large at Tynecastle Park, it remains to be seen whether the Glaswegian outfit will be able to tempt Findlay and Devlin to sign pre-contract agreements.
