Danny Rohl to regret Danilo call as Rangers starting XI named to face Hearts

Rangers have named their starting XI to face Hearts on Sunday.

Rangers have travelled to play Hearts ahead of their Scottish Premiership clash in the hope of maintaining their winning form in the league.

The clash away at Tynecastle Park comes less than a week after Rangers secured a victory against Hibernian at Ibrox.

The Light Blues won’t find it easy, as Rangers come up against Hearts, who remain top of the division after wins over Falkirk and Celtic.

Danny Rohl has made changes away to the Maroons with Danilo remaining on the bench, something he may live to regret.

Jack Butland has come under scrutiny for Rangers at times this season, but has arguably saved his side more than he’s cost them.

The Englishman has been named to start once again after keeping a clean sheet and making two saves away to Hibs last time around.

The keeper is ready to be joined by Emmanuel Fernandez once again, with Nasser Djiga dropping out due to AFCON after the duo combined for 20 defensive contributions at Ibrox.

James Tavernier has returned to the starting XI to join Dujon Sterling and Max Aarons, with Jayden Meghoma also maintaining his spot in the side at left-back.

Connor Barron and Mohamed Diomande have also kept their places in the side, to be joined by Nico Raskin, who starts after his substitute appearance last time around.

Danilo could benefit from gametime at Rangers

Danilo was an unused substitute last time around as Youssef Chermiti featured across 90 minutes, but failed to get on the scoresheet.

The summer signing had five shots with just three of them on target, something which is far from good enough and was lucky to be bailed out by Fernandez’s goal.

The Portuguese forward is deserving of a spot on the bench, and Danilo could have an ideal replacement after his 100 per cent aerial duel win rate, five shots and two chances created against Dundee United in his last start.

Instead, Bojan Miovski has been given the nod, with Findlay Curtis joining the two strikers on the bench at Tynecastle.

Mikey Moore has kept his place in the forward line and will be keen to make an impact once again under Rohl.
