Billy Dodds loves this about Dujon Sterling after what he saw in Rangers vs Hearts
Dujon Sterling is like a new signing for Rangers at the moment.
Sterling returned for Rangers recently after a long injury lay-off, and he has worked his way into Danny Rohl‘s plans.
Rohl named Sterling in the starting line-up for Rangers’ clash with Hearts, and he made an instant impression once again, after starring in the 1-0 win over Hibernian last time out.
Former Gers coach Billy Dodds was blown away by what he saw from Sterling against Hearts as the sides clashed on 21 December.

Sterling earns rave reviews from ex-Rangers coach
Dodds was part of Barry Ferguson’s Rangers coaching staff when he took over the interim gig after Philippe Clement was sacked last February.
He will have had a first-hand look at Sterling in his time at Ibrox, before the defender was injured in April, and he did not hold back in his praise live on air, in the early stages of the contest.
Speaking on BBC Sportsound on 21 December, he said: “Trust me, he’s a top player,”

“I didn’t realise how good. Quick, can play, aggressive, he’s not even built like a big stature either, but just so underrated and you can see with a couple of tackles he’s made, he’s been rock solid.”

Why Rohl will be delighted with Sterling developments
While he is naturally a right-back, Sterling can also play at centre-back, which could prove to be a useful option for Rohl going forward.
Given that John Souttar and Derek Cornelius are out injured, with a few weeks left until they return, and Nasser Djiga is away at the Africa Cup of Nations, he has come back at the perfect time.
The 26-year-old’s pace and versatility will be a major asset for the German manager, as he looks to continue to push the Gers up the table.
Rohl likes to play with a high-pressing system, and has switched between four and five at the back formations, both of which suit the former Chelsea academy star.
His return could be the spark that revitalises the Light Blues’ fortunes under the ex-Sheffield Wednesday box, although they need to turn around the 2-0 deficit against the Jambos.
The only dilemma may be where to play him, the Gers need pace at centre-back, but James Tavernier and Max Aarons have not cemented the spot at right-back either.
