Barry Ferguson predicts imminent Rangers signing as Stig Inge Bjornebye gets to work
Stig Inge Bjornebye may already have started work to sign new players at Rangers as soon as the winter transfer window opens.
Barry Ferguson believes the Gers will sign someone before the Old Firm Derby at Parkhead in the William Hill Premiership on 3 January.
Bjornebye was appointed by Andrew Cavenagh in an advisory role, with the former Norway international involved in planning the recruitment drive at the Light Blues.
Danny Rohl is expected to be backed at Ibrox, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see an imminent new arrival at the Glaswegian outfit in the coming days.

Rangers to sign multiple players in winter transfer window for Danny Rohl
Ferguson has claimed that the Gers will sign three or four players who will go straight into the starting lineup.
The Light Blues’ former interim manager expects reinforcements to arrive in G51 as “Bjornebye has started work already” at Ibrox.
Rohl has brought the Glaswegian outfit back into contention for the William Hill Premiership title, and it would make sense to give the German manager the tools needed to succeed.
Ferguson wrote in the Daily Record on 19 December: “I fully expect three or four reinforcements to be added in January. Not squad fillers either — players who will go straight in and strengthen the first eleven.”
The Gers icon added: “And some of them might even come in the door before the Old Firm game on 3 January because Bjornebye has started work already ahead of the window opening for business. He’ll want to hit the ground running to help the manager.”
Joe Rothwell is being linked with an exit from Ibrox, and the Light Blues are looking to strengthen the number six position.
Stig Inge Bjornebye appointment hints at first Ibrox January signing
Bjornebye’s appointment may hint at a move for Tromso midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl, with the Norwegian links obvious.
The former Norway international worked as a sporting director at Rosenborg for a considerable period and will surely bring his connections to Rangers.
Hjerto-Dahl is seen as one of the most promising talents in the Eliteserien, and his situation will certainly be one to keep an eye on after links to the Glaswegian outfit.
Bjornebye undoubtedly has a massive task on his hands after Kevin Thelwell’s disastrous spell as sporting director at Ibrox.
