Wilfried Nancy sack point raised after what happened to Rangers figure – ‘Surely there’s a rule?’
Derek Clark has made light of sack talk surrounding Wilfried Nancy at Celtic after what happened with Russell Martin at nearby Rangers.
Celtic could sack Nancy in the coming days as the Frenchman has coached four losses in as many games for the Hoops.
Rangers are improving under Danny Rohl, and are now catching Celtic up in the Scottish Premiership, with the Gers now sitting three points behind their rivals.
However, Rangers fans also had to sit through the Russell Martin era this season, and perhaps for too long, leading Clark to ask a humorous question surrounding Scottish Premiership rules.

Dererk Clark’s playful dig at the Rangers board
Many thought that the 49ers should have sacked Martin sooner, as the head coach failed to convince early on in Glasgow.
It’s fair to say that Rohl has made a good impression at Ibrox, with Gers fans in support of giving the German head coach time.
But time is not on Nancy‘s side at Celtic, and it looks like he could be gone as early as this week.
| Manager | Wins | Draws | Losses |
| Wilfried Nancy | 0 | 0 | 4 |
| Russell Martin | 5 | 6 | 6 |
Speaking on the latest surrounding Nancy’s future at Celtic, Clark joked how the Hoops can’t sack him yet, given how long Rangers took to axe Martin.
Clark said on X: “Surely there’s an SPFL rule that means clubs can’t sack their manager earlier than Rangers had to endure Russell Martin?”
Either way, Rangers and Celtic have both been losers this season.

Celtic may actually outplay Rangers with Wilfried Nancy call
Rangers fans will rightly find Nancy’s time at Celtic great for their own entertainment, but realistically, Gers need this to go on for as long as possible.
Celtic are still three points ahead of Rangers in the league standings, and if they decide to get rid of Nancy soon, a new manager could pick the Hoops back up.
The best-case scenario for Rangers is if Nancy stays at Celtic, because their supporters are fuming at the moment.
The longer it stays toxic at Celtic, the better for Rangers, but it still shows that the 49ers dragged their heels in making a relatively easy decision with Martin.
