Wilfried Nancy says exact same thing as Russell Martin already in fresh Celtic rant

Celtic manager Wilfried Nancy is already drawing scary comparisons to Russell Martin.

Nancy is somehow already facing sack talk despite having only taken over at Celtic Park at the beginning of December, as Danny Rohl continues to impress at Ibrox.

Nancy was already being compared to Martin regarding their similar mannerisms before taking the Celtic job, and his recent comments have only served to strengthen that rhetoric further.

Rangers fans are even starting to think the circus has left their half of Glasgow.

Under-fire Celtic boss Wilfried Nancy mimics ex-Rangers manager Russell Martin comments

Nancy has already lost more domestic games in one week than Martin did in his entire Rangers tenure.

Martin lost just once in domestic competitions against Hearts at Ibrox before being axed, whereas Celtic’s two defeats against the Jambos and then to St. Mirren in the Premier Sports Cup final mean Nancy has already surpassed the former ill-fated Gers boss.

Veteran manager Sam Allardyce has previously slammed Nancy for comments he made to the media, and he may well be doing so again after what the Celtic boss said following that defeat at Hampden Park.

Nancy said: “I don’t have anything to prove,” in the aftermath of that game when being questioned on his tactics and overall suitability for the Celtic job.

Rangers fans were quick to point out that this is almost word-for-word what Martin told the media during the height of the scrutiny he faced at Ibrox before being given his marching orders, with the ex-Gers gaffer quoted as saying: “I don’t have to prove anything for anybody”.

Nancy is quickly becoming Rangers hero as Celtic woes threaten to usurp Martin tenure

Having won titles in both the MLS and Canadian football with Columbus Crew and CF Montreal, respectively, expectations were naturally high for the 48-year-old upon his arrival at Parkhead.

However, with three losses in all competitions ahead of their meeting with Dundee United, Nancy is taking the spotlight away from Martin’s disastrous spell at Rangers and shining it firmly on himself at Celtic Park.

Naturally, this is seeing him become an unlikely hero in the eyes of Rangers fans everywhere, which will only serve to strain his ever-thinning relationship with Celtic supporters further if he and his team can’t turn things around ASAP.

With the next Old Firm at the start of January, will Nancy still be in charge?
