What Lee McCulloch has already said about James Tavernier as Rangers eye Ibrox return
Lee McCulloch has already had his say on several Rangers players after being linked with an Ibrox return.
McCulloch is being lined up by Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises as their Gers continue to revamp their recruitment team.
Both Kevin Thelwell and Patrick Stewart were sacked by Rangers back in November, following Rangers’ disastrous start to the season.
The pair paid the price for a number of poor summer signings and Ibrox chiefs are moving quickly to replace them ahead of the January transfer window.
Dujon Sterling has impressed Lee McCulloch
McCulloch played for Rangers between 2007 and 2015, and currently works at Brighton & Hove Albion as their talent acquisition manager.
Brighton are widely recognised as having one of the best recruiting teams across Europe, so it would be a smart appointment from the Gers.
The 47-year-old has given his opinion on several Rangers players in the past, and is particularly fond of winger Dujon Sterling.
Back in 2024, McCulloch praised Sterling for his physicality and hard work, even joking that the Glasgow giants need two of him in their side.

The 26-year-old is on his way back from injury at the moment, but did manage to grab an assist as Rangers beat Hibernian 1-0 on Monday.
Lee McCulloch made ‘unbelievable’ James Tavernier claim
McCulloch is also a big fan of James Tavernier, believing the full-back is fully deserving of his place in the club’s Hall of Fame.
The prospective Gers appointment spoke about Tavernier last year, noting his “unbelievable” service to the Glasgow outfit and impressive goal record.
McCulloch said: “I think he’s been an outstanding servant for the club. I think he thoroughly deserves to have a place in the Hall of Fame. That’s where it ends for me.”
Tavernier joined Rangers from Wigan Athletic back in 2015 and has made nearly 550 appearances in his 10 years at the club.

The defender has also managed to score an incredible 137 goals for the Gers, and on average, has found the net once every four games.
