Danny Rohl about to be hit by stark reality of life at Rangers, here’s why

Danny Rohl has completely changed the atmosphere around Rangers, but their good run in the Scottish Premiership is about to come under threat.

Rohl took over from Russell Martin at Ibrox with the Gers in complete crisis, but the former Sheffield Wednesday boss has managed to steady the ship.

Rangers beat Hibernian 1-0 at Ibrox on Monday evening, with Emmanuel Fernandez’s first-half winner helping the Glasgow outfit to their sixth victory in eight Scottish Premiership games.

The Gers are nine points adrift of league leaders Hearts, and just three points behind Celtic, but are now set for a difficult run of games.

Danny Rohl has had it easy at Rangers

Rohl is unbeaten in the league since coming in at Ibrox, but Rangers have had incredibly favourable fixtures under the German so far.

The 36-year-old is yet to lead his side into a game against a single one of the current top four in the Scottish Premiership, and their clash with Hibernian on Monday was the first time he has faced a team in the top six.

Instead, Rohl has been blessed with fixtures against those down towards the foot of the table, allowing him time to get his ideas and philosophies across.

However, Rangers face Hearts in a huge clash at Tynecastle this Sunday, which starts a very difficult run for the Glasgow outfit.

Rangers have a difficult run in the Scottish Premiership

Across their next six games, the Gers play the three other teams in the top four, as well as taking on sixth-place Aberdeen twice.

Their only easier match on paper is against St Mirren, although Stephen Robinson’s side just beat Celtic in the Scottish Cup final.

Danny Rohl has struggled against top teams

Rangers have really struggled away from the Scottish Premiership under Rohl, likely because they have been facing better opposition.

The Bears have lost three and drawn one in the Europa League, as well as being beaten by Celtic in the Scottish League Cup semi-final.

There is no doubt that Rohl has improved Rangers since he’s come in, but as of yet, we haven’t seen the Glasgow outfit properly tested.

Once the next six games have been played, we will have a much better idea of the impact that the former Sheffield Wednesday boss has had at Ibrox.
