Djeidi Gassama Rangers transfer truth emerges as Villarreal sources speak out – Exclusive
Djeidi Gassama has been in the headlines as Villarreal reportedly want the Rangers forward in the winter transfer window.
The 22-year-old joined the Gers in the summer from Sheffield Wednesday for £2.2million, but it seems like a move away is already on the cards.
It’s been claimed that Villarreal have identified Gassama as a concrete January target, with the Light Blues looking to make more than double what they paid for him.
The French winger has been a key player for the Glaswegian outfit this season, and the truth regarding his potential departure has emerged.

Villarreal have no interest in Rangers forward Djeidi Gassama
Villarreal aren’t looking to sign Gassama from the Gers as things stand.
Sources have revealed that the former Sheffield Wednesday forward’s agents may be generating the rumours to get a move away from Ibrox.
It doesn’t look like the young winger is going anywhere for now, as the Glaswegian outfit go into the upcoming transfer window with plenty of decisions to make.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, El Periodico Mediterraneo journalist Ismael Mateu said: “I’ve been told by Villarreal that they currently have no interest in Gassama. These are rumours generated by agents of footballers who are interested in the transfer.”
January will certainly be a busy month for the Gers, with Joe Rothwell one of the summer signings looking to leave Ibrox.
Whether Gassama will be part of the outgoing list as the Light Blues look to strengthen their squad remains to be seen.
Danny Rohl set for Ibrox squad overhaul in January with four exits
Danny Rohl will likely take charge of transfers at Ibrox amid the absence of a sporting director, following Kevin Thelwell’s recent sacking.
While Rothwell is one of the candidates to leave Rangers in the coming weeks, he could potentially be followed by three more players.
Clinton Nsiala, Kieran Dowell and Rabbi Matondo seem surplus to requirements at the Gers, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them leave.
As for Gassama, with the German manager counting on the forward since being appointed at the Glaswegian outfit, it would be surprising to see him go to Villarreal unless a massive offer that can’t be refused arrives.
