Clinton Nsiala sends first message as Rangers exile finally ends

Clinton Nsiala finally returned to the fold in Rangers’ win over Hibernian on Monday.

It has been a rocky year in Govan for the Frenchman, but he came off the bench in Rangers’ 1-0 victory over Hibs on 15 December.

Nsiala was fully frozen out by Russell Martin and had yet to feature under Danny Rohl until last night.

With Nasser Djiga now going to AFCON, Nsiala was brought off the bench in the 60th minute to return to the action nearly eight months after his last appearance.

Nsiala looks set for a spell in defence under Rohl, with the defence suddenly in crisis at Ibrox.

Taking to his personal Instagram account after the win over Hibs, the Rangers defender celebrated after coming back in from the cold.

“I praise my Lord and Saviour Jesus for everything he has done in my life so far because he did, he does, and he will do it again,” Nsiala wrote.

“I’m still here, and my story continues to be written, more motivated than ever.”

Clinton Nsiala could have left Rangers

Despite being frozen out at Ibrox, the 21-year-old decided to stick around and fight.

Nsiala was close to a move to Ukraine in the summer transfer window, but that collapsed with all the issues of a potential move to Eastern Europe.

Instead, he now looks set for another shot at the big time.

John Souttar and Derek Cornelius remain injured, likely until January, with Rohl facing yet another reshuffle ahead of some key games around Christmas.

Rangers travel to Tynecastle next to take on Hearts on Sunday, and need to win if they want to stay in contention for the Scottish Premiership title.

Nsiala will likely partner with Emmanuel Fernandez in that showdown, something that will likely make those travelling to Edinburgh nervous.

Let’s hope he can make a name for himself after months on the sideline.
