Rangers could face points deduction in Scottish Premiership – ‘I keep saying this and fans won’t like it’
Rangers are never far away from trouble with the authorities, it seems.
After several warnings and sanctions, Rangers fans still displayed pyrotechnics in their 3-0 win over Kilmarnock recently, with a young fan left injured.
The SPFL could impose another away ticket sanction and fine, but that has never proven to do the trick.
With Danny Rohl still unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership, a points deduction would be catastrophic to his small hopes of the title.

Rangers could face points deductions
Dan Plumley believes that the only way these events may stop happening is if harsher punishments, such as points deductions, are imposed.
The football finance expert exclusively told Ibrox News that the SPFL and Scottish FA won’t want to take action so drastically, but they may be left with no choice soon.
“I keep saying this and fans won’t like it, but the only way you really stop these things happening is either a complete ban on away fans, or heavier punishments in terms of larger fines and ultimately sporting sanctions (e.g. points deductions) if things don’t change,” Plumley said.
“The one thing that no Rangers fan will ever want is a points deduction, so maybe the threat of that might change behaviour.
“That said, it still takes the governing body/federation to make that call, and it is not one they will want to make.“
Where are Rangers in the Scottish Premiership?
Rangers take on Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership on Monday, looking to go third.
The Bears will go three points behind Celtic and nine behind Hearts with a win, ahead of what is a huge week of football ahead of Christmas.

Rangers would still have a game in hand over Hearts and travel to Tynecastle to take on the league leaders next on Sunday.
Winning their next two games would put Rohl‘s men provisionally three points behind the Jambos, and anything could happen after that.
With January signings to follow at Ibrox, this week could make or break the entire season, with no points deductions needed to halt that already.
