Joe Rothwell price may skyrocket as Rangers could sell four players in January
Rangers could be set for a busy January transfer window with up to four outgoings as Danny Rohl looks to revamp his squad.
Rohl replaced Russell Martin at Ibrox back in October, but came in to find that the Glasgow giants were lacking players of real quality.
The Gers are still feeling the effects of terrible recruitment over the summer, with Kevin Thelwell receiving much of the blame for the underperforming signings.
Thelwell was eventually sacked by Rangers along with chief executive Patrick Stewart, as the pair paid the price for the club’s poor start to the season.
Joe Rothwell is the perfect example of that.
Joe Rothwell to lead Rangers exodus in January
Rangers signed Rothwell from Bournemouth over the summer after the midfielder had an impressive spell with Leeds United in the Championship.
However, the 30-year-old has struggled in Glasgow and has featured just twice for the Gers since Rohl came in at the end of October.
According to Chris Jack for the Rangers Review, Rangers are now open to selling Rothwell, despite the fact that he was brought in on a three-year deal less than six months ago.
Championship sides Sheffield United, Derby, Stoke and Middlesbrough are all interested in the Englishman, given his pedigree in the division.

Rangers expect to make their money back on Rothwell, and the number of potential buyers could help drive the asking price even higher.
Joe Rothwell could be joined by three others in Rangers exit
It is also reported that both Kieran Dowell and Rabbi Matondo could be set for a January exit, with both players surplus to requirements.
Dowell spent the second half of last season on loan at Birmingham City before picking up a serious foot injury back in August.
As for Matondo, he has yet to feature for Rangers this season after undergoing knee surgery over the summer and would likely be allowed to leave in January if an offer came in.
Clinton Nsiala is another who could depart, as Rohl looks to clear out some of the fringe players from his squad.

Rangers don’t need to sell before they can buy, but Nsiala has yet to play a single minute this season, so a January exit is increasingly likely.
