Dujon Sterling ‘furious’ with what Rangers teammates did vs Hibernian, he was spotted gesturing at them
Danny Rohl handed Dujon Sterling his first start of the season as Rangers took on Hibernian at Ibrox on Monday night.
Sterling was forced to undergo surgery on a ruptured Achilles tendon he suffered in April when playing against Athletic Club in the Europa League.
The 26-year-old wasn’t expected to feature until 2026 due to the setback, but he’s done well to recover to the point that he’s now starting for Rangers again in the Scottish Premiership in mid-December.
He was a surprise inclusion in Rohl‘s starting line-up against Hibs, replacing James Tavernier in the right-back position, meaning the Gers captain has now failed to start each of the club’s last two league fixtures.
However, despite his lack of football since the spring, Sterling was one of the few Rangers players who seemed to offer anything going forward in the first half.

Dujon Sterling shines in first half with assist for Emmanuel Fernandez
Sterling has been tipped to become a “real asset” for Rangers now that he’s back to full fitness.
Alan Hutton has called his return a “huge lift” for the club, especially due to other injury issues in Rohl’s squad and the fact that Nasser Djiga is heading to the Africa Cup of Nations with Burkina Faso.
And while it was a frustrating first half at Ibrox on Monday night, Sterling’s performance was a positive for fans to talk about, especially as he assisted Emmanuel Fernandez‘s 35th-minute goal with what Scott Allan described as a “cracking ball” into the box.

BBC Scotland commentator Thomas Duncan noticed that he was also getting frustrated with his Rangers teammates for not being on the same wavelength as him going forward.
“Interesting to see there Dujon Sterling carrying it up the right-hand side and he’s gesturing furiously for some movement from some players,” said Duncan on BBC Sportsound a quarter-of-an-hour into the game at Ibrox.
“It wasn’t forthcoming, though, and he’s had to go back.”
Billy Dodds also unimpressed by Rangers movement
Although Rohl’s men have gone in the break a goal ahead, it wasn’t comfortable watching the way the team went forward in that opening 45 minutes.
Sterling’s frustration was matched by Billy Dodds, who saw very little from the attackers and central midfielders when Rangers were in possession.
“There’s not enough movement in there,” said Dodds on Sportsound.

“I’m just looking at it now and seeing it.
“Their front-three are staying flat, not one of the two midfielders are going to the ball, you’ve got to make the movement sharp. That’s the thing that triggers the pass; they’ve got to move early.
“There’s no movement whatsoever.”
It would be fair to say that Rangers are lucky to be ahead against Hibs, who have arguably been the better team, but just haven’t shown enough of a cutting edge in the final third.
As for the Light Blues, they created one amazing chance through Sterling’s fantastic cross into the box, and they took it with Fernandez getting his third goal of the campaign.
