Rangers will be glad Wilfried Nancy didn’t do one thing in Celtic interview as sack looms
Rangers fans will be pleased with the failings of Wilfried Nancy at Celtic so far.
Nancy has had a tough start to life at Celtic after falling to two defeats in as many games with the Parkhead club.
The Ibrox faithful have compared Nancy to Russell Martin and his Rangers spell, one which ended with the Englishman facing the sack.
The Frenchman could soon face a similar fate, with Nancy coming under fire at Celtic for a raft of reasons after just over a week in charge.
Nancy may face the sack in the coming days at Celtic Park, but he may have missed out on the job entirely if he had spoken out in his interview as he has recently.

Wilfried Nancy destined for record-quick sack at Celtic
Sam Allardyce is baffled by Nancy at Celtic, especially with his comments to the media after such frustrating defeats to start his reign.
The Hoops fell to a 2-1 defeat on their maiden voyage against Hearts as Oisin McEntee scored the all-important match-winning goal.
Things didn’t improve in the Europa League as Roma smashed home three to secure victory away at Parkhead to really pile pressure on the Celtic boss.
Nancy didn’t help himself after defeat against the Maroons by suggesting that he is more interested in performances than results.
With a cup final coming up against St Mirren on Sunday, anything but a win could end with the newly appointed head coach facing the axe.
That is the opinion of Hugh Keevins, in his Daily Record column, who has suggested Celtic would never have hired the Frenchman if he had professed his lack of care for winning results.
He said: “Nancy’s post-match soundbite after losing to Hearts last weekend, to the effect that ‘I am not about winning or losing, I am about performance’, will be his epitaph when the time comes to leave Celtic. He has subsequently explained what he meant, but the statement is stuck in the supporters’ subconscious.
“If Nancy had expressed his managerial philosophy in those terms during the protracted interviews prior to his appointment being confirmed, one thing would have happened immediately. Those in charge of negotiations on Celtic’s behalf would have stood up, thanked Nancy for his time and explained discussions were at an end.
“It didn’t happen, and I maintain that an error of judgment was made by appointing an ill-prepared, unsuitable candidate to replace Brendan Rodgers. The reality remains that, for anyone in charge of an Old Firm club, winning and losing is all that matters.“
“The reality of the situation is that if Nancy loses to St Mirren in the Premier Sports Cup Final this afternoon, then character assassination will follow and his job will be in the balance. Nancy’s credibility, or what’s left of it, will sustain severe structural damage if St Mirren win at Hampden. If he loses the game, he could be out of work in record time. And deservedly so.“
Rangers will love what’s happening with Nancy at Celtic
It was a surprise to see Brendan Rodgers walk out on Celtic, and then another shock when Martin O’Neill wasn’t afforded the chance to oversee the cup final.
Nancy has seriously struggled and continued to show that these “tacticos” don’t work in charge of the Old Firm clubs.
In recent years, personalities who can handle the pressure of these massive clubs have been successful, and it doesn’t look like the ex-Columbus Crew man is one of those.
Rangers fans won’t mind, they’ve already gone through that once this season, so they will be sitting with their popcorn watching the chaos at Celtic Park.
