Danny Rohl ‘angry’ as details shared on Rangers team meeting
Danny Rohl called a Rangers team meeting to go over aspects of the defeat to Ferencvaros that left him “angry.”
Rangers were beaten 2-1 by Ferencvaros in Budapest on Thursday to remain winless in the Europa League this season.
Tam McManus was aghast at Rangers’ defending in Hungary, with a number of players once again letting themselves down on the continent.
Rangers host Hibernian at Ibrox on Monday night, meaning there is not long to get the latest European defeat out of the system.
Danny Rohl hopes to learn from Ferencvaros defeat
Rohl was quick to get his players together on Saturday to discuss what lessons can be learned from the game.
The Hibs match being played on Monday, rather than Sunday, does at least give slightly longer to prepare for the contest.
Rangers cannot afford to switch off in various moments as they did on Thursday or else disappointment awaits at Ibrox.
Speaking to reporters, as quoted by Rangers Review, Rohl said: “We had a meeting this morning. We spoke about the game.
“It’s important that we speak about this and now we have to move forward to the next games. In the league we want to continue our run with five wins and two draws.
“From the game on Thursday we can learn a lot about moments. This is always what I tell everyone. I talk to my players about consistency.
“I was angry after the match on Thursday and I showed them exactly the situations where we did what we want them to do and the parts where we didn’t.
“Then they see the big picture and I think the players were clear after that, they agreed.“
Robbie Keane revelled in Ferencvaros’ win over Rangers, given his Celtic roots, with the loss all but confirming the Gers’ exit from European competition this season.
The stat that shows Rohl is definitely improving Rangers
While Rangers’ European form has been woeful throughout the campaign, domestically they are on a decent run.
It is by no means perfect, having recently played out successive draws with Falkirk and Dundee United, but Rangers remain unbeaten in the league under Rohl.

Rangers’ five wins in seven games under Rohl is as many as their final 18 matches prior to his arrival.
Bigger than that, though, is Rangers have kept four clean sheets in five in the league, which is as many as their previous 28 beforehand.
Becoming defensively stronger and tougher to beat was always the first priority for Rohl. Now it is a case of turning those aforementioned recent draws into wins.
