Rangers vs Hibernian preview: Team news, lineups, prediction
Rangers return to Scottish Premiership action when they host Hibernian on Monday evening.
Rangers were effectively knocked out of the Europa League after suffering a 2-1 loss to Ferencvaros on Thursday.
Danny Rohl‘s side sit fourth in the division, nine points behind league leaders Hearts, and that gap could be increased before the Ibrox clash.
Ibrox News shares everything that supporters need to know ahead of the 15 December contest.

Preview
Rangers will be looking to put their embarrassing European campaign behind them and try to salvage their league season.
The Gers beat Kilmarnock 3-0 in their last league game, bouncing back from two disappointing draws with Dundee United and Falkirk.
Rohl is yet to taste defeat in the league, with three losses in Europe and one in the Scottish League Cup semi-final at the hands of Celtic.
Hibernian are fifth, just two points behind the Light Blues and could overhaul them with victory when the sides meet.

David Gray’s side have won three of their last six matches in the division, with two losses and one draw, beating Falkirk 3-0 last time out.

Head-to-head
Rangers will take encouragement from the fact that they beat Hibs when the sides met already this season, winning 1-0 in October.
Danilo’s fifth-minute strike was enough to secure all three points at Easter Road, in Rohl’s third game in charge.
They also tasted victory in the previous contest in the Scottish League Cup, with a 2-0 win in September.
However, Gray’s side have had some success, with the Gers not winning in three matches between January and May 2025, per Sofascore.

Team news and predicted lineups
The hosts are expected to be without John Souttar, Derek Cornelius, Bailey Rice, Kieran Dowell, Nedim Bajrami, Oliver Antman and Rabbi Matondo.
Meanwhile, Gray is hoping to have Rocky Bushiri, Miguel Chaiwa, and Jordan Obita available before they head to the Africa Cup of Nations, with communication ongoing with their respective countries.
Nicky Cadden and Alasana Manneh are doubtful for the contest, and Rudi Molotnikov and Thibault Klidje should miss the clash.
Rangers predicted XI: Butland; Aarons, Djiga, Nsiala, Meghoma; Barron, Raskin; Gassama, Diomande, Moore; Danilo
Hibernian predicted XI: Sallinger; O’Hora, Bushiri, Iredale; Barlaser, Levitt, Mulligan, Chaiwa, McGrath; Boyle, Bowie

Prediction: Rangers 2-0 Hibernian
Rangers’ issues have primarily been in Europe under Rohl, so they should have enough to get the job done.
Rohl is yet to lose in the league, and he needs his side to keep up that momentum if they are to have any chance of catching the surprise leaders and the Hoops.
They cannot afford to lose, especially at home, and allow the Jambos and their Glasgow rivals to gain even more ground.
