Rangers player already has mind away from Ibrox after latest January transfer news
Djedi Gassama could continue to be in the headlines as Villarreal look to sign the Rangers attacker in the winter transfer window.
The 22-year-old moved to the Gers in the summer from Ibrox and is now already being linked with an exit.
Villarreal have identified Gassama as a potential target for January, and it will be interesting to see what the Light Blues’ stance on his sale will be.
Andrew Cavenagh is expected to back Rohl financially at Ibrox, but they may be forced into selling one of their best players in the coming weeks.

Djeidi Gassama seems distracted at Rangers amid transfer links
Gassama may have been thinking about the recent speculation around Villarreal as the Gers lost 2-1 to Ferencvaros in the Europa League, John McGarry says.
The Daily Mail journalist suggests that the attacker may already have his mind away from Ibrox as he put in an underwhelming display at the Groupama Stadium on 11 December.
Rohl could potentially have a big decision to make regarding the French youngster, who has scored six goals and provided two assists for the Glaswegian outfit this season.
McGarry wrote in the Daily Mail on 12 December: “Gassama truly had a night to forget. Aside from a smart switch of play, which eventually led to the opener, he was ineffective with and without the ball.”
The journalist added: “There’s speculation in Spain that Villarreal are planning to move for the winger in January. While Rohl dismissed this as speculation after the match, his star man certainly looked like his mind was elsewhere.”
Rohl has every right to be angry with Gassama’s display in Budapest, with the forward seemingly angry after being substituted at the hour mark, but he is still a key player for the Gers.
Danny Rohl has already addressed Djeidi Gassama rumours
Gassama’s lack of effort has certainly been noticed by the Ibrox faithful, with the attacker’s defensive commitment questionable at times.
The French attacker has seen a dip in form in recent matches, but he’s still arguably one of the most creative players Rangers have at their disposal.
Rohl addressed the talks over Gassama’s future after losing to Ferencvaros, saying: “I don’t want to speak about rumours — I think there will be a lot of them about outs and ins. He’s a player at our club, and there’s nothing more to say.”
With the winter transfer window just days away, there will undoubtedly be more rumours about incomings and outgoings at Ibrox, and it will be interesting to see what turns out to be true.
