Where Nico Raskin would rank among Rangers’ record sales amid mega-money exit news

Nico Raskin could be set to become one of Rangers’ all-time record sales in the January transfer window.

Raskin has long been linked with a Rangers exit, and rumours about the Belgian international’s future at Ibrox are continuing to swirl.

The 24-year-old has been with the Gers since January 2023, when he made the move from Standard Liege for a reported fee of around £1.5million

Despite still having over two and a half years left on his current contract with the Scottish giants, Raskin is now attracting interest from across Europe.

Rangers set Nico Raskin price tag as Besiktas continue talks

Over the last few days, it has been revealed that Besiktas are in talks regarding a possible deal for Raskin in January.

The Turkish giants were linked with the Belgian during the summer window, but didn’t manage to get a deal over the line.

Besiktas will be forced to spend big if they want to secure Raskin, though, with Rangers demanding £15m for the former Standard Liege man.

Premier League sides like Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Leeds United have also been touted as potential destinations for the midfielder, but as of now, Besiktas look to be leading the race for his signature.

Nico Raskin could become Rangers’ second-all time record sale

Rangers have sanctioned several big-money exits over the past few years, and Raskin would make the club a big profit if he does depart – although supporters will hope that isn’t the case.

If the Gers receive an offer of £15m for him, then they will surely cash in and look to invest the funds elsewhere.

Rangers’ current record sale is Calvin Bassey, who left to join Ajax in 2022 for a fee of just under £20m.

The centre-back then went on to sign for Fulham just a year later, and he has been playing his football at Craven Cottage ever since.

If Raskin does join Besiktas for £15m in January, he will slot in behind Bassey, and ahead of Nathan Patterson, Hamza Igamane and Alan Hutton, as the club’s second-highest sale of all time.

Igamane was the latest high-profile Rangers sale, leaving to join Lille after just one season at Ibrox.
