Ally McCoist baffled by ‘Amazing’ Rangers moment before Bojan Miovski goal vs Ferencvaros
Ally McCoist couldn’t believe what he saw before Bojan Miovski opened the scoring for Rangers against Ferencvaros.
Rangers fell to defeat away to Ferencvaros on Thursday to all but confirm their exit from the Europa League with two games to spare.
Danilo and Miovski started up front for Rangers, but were afforded a general lack of service at the Groupama Arena.
The North Macedonia international came into the clash on good form after netting two last time around as Rangers secured a 3-0 win against Kilmarnock.
Miovski may take the headlines for his acrobatic strike, but it is the actions in the lead-up to the goal that caught the eye of McCoist.

Emmanuel Fernandez in crazy moment vs Ferencvaros
Fernandez has struggled for Rangers this season and has been very lucky to avoid being sent off in the Scottish Premiership.
His lack of experience at the top level hasn’t benefited him so far, and that certainly wasn’t the case in Hungary.
The 24-year-old was seriously at fault for Barnabas Varga’s strike to make it 2-1, as the defender was facing the wrong way as the striker converted past Jack Butland.

The Englishman hadn’t covered himself in glory before that moment, but did play a key role in Miovski’s goal, even if it was by accident.
Fernandez took a wild swipe at the ball to clear, but somehow found Djeidi Gassama before the ball eventually fell for the forward to score.
Speaking live on TNT Sports 4, McCoist couldn’t believe what he saw from start to finish for the opening strike.
He said: “It’s amazing, because I’ll tell you something, it came from some slack play defensively in the Rangers back three. It’s not a great clearance from Fernandez; it came to Gassama, and he lit the place up.
“He took a lovely touch, and it all started from there. It takes a deflection off a defender. It’s not when it comes off the defender, it’s when it comes off his own player. When Miovski plays it, he must be onside.“
Rangers need defensive revolution in January
In Fernandez and Nasser Djiga, the Gers don’t have a backline that can be trusted domestically, never mind on the continent.
The Wolves loanee may have put in a positive shift away in Budapest, but his defensive partner certainly can’t make that claim.
Even with Rangers now out of the Europa League, there is still a need to make changes defensively once the transfer window opens.
John Souttar needs to be joined by better quality when fit, and the current options just aren’t that right now in Govan.
