Nasser Djiga in rare display, 3/10 teammate loses head – Rangers player ratings vs Ferencvaros
Nasser Djiga arguably ensured Rangers didn’t concede more as Ferencvaros won 2-1 in the Europa League on Thursday.
Danny Rohl made two changes to his starting lineup at the Groupama Arena on 11 December, with the German manager opting for more defensive stability.
The Light Blues went off to a slow start, with Emmanuel Fernandez seemingly switching during Bamidele Yusuf’s first opportunity, but Bojan Miovski gave the visitors the lead in the 28th minute.
Bence Otvos’ goal just before the break was a bitter pill for the Glaswegian outfit, and they didn’t seem to recover after it, with Barnanbas Varga getting the winner in the second half.

Rangers have Nasser Djiga to thank after Ferencvaros loss
Djiga has come under heavy criticism since moving to Ibrox, with the Wolves defender putting in several underwhelming performances.
However, the Burkina Faso international was solid at the back for the Gers in Budapest and put in some important last-ditch tackles to keep his team in the game and stop the home side from scoring more than they did.
The 23-year-old was constantly let down by James Tavernier and Fernandez, with the captain arguably having a game to forget at the Groupama Stadium.
Djiga has been relied on in recent weeks amid John Souttar and Derek Cornelius’ injuries, and the Glaswegian outfit will certainly miss him when he leaves for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Djeidi Gassama has head in Villarreal
Djeidi Gassama has emerged as a target for Villarreal just a few months after moving to the Gers from Sheffield Wednesday.
Against Ferencvaros, it seemed like the 22-year-old was already thinking about the prospect of playing in LaLiga amid speculation around his future at Ibrox.
The French winger appeared angry and looked to have lost his head after being substituted for Mikey Moore at around the hour mark.

Gassama was rightly replaced after failing to do much during his time on the pitch, and the youngster needs to get his act together amid a downturn in form.
