Ally McCoist blasts fourth official after ’embarrassing’ moment in Rangers loss vs Ferencvaros
Ally McCoist saw the Rangers bench having a go at the fourth official in the 2-1 loss against Ferencvaros in the Europa League on Thursday.
Danny Rohl looked for a win at the Groupama Stadium on 11 December, and Bojan Miovski’s strike in the 28th minute gave the Gers the lead.
Bence Otvos equalised for the hosts just before half-time as the Light Blues lost focus at a time they needed it the most.
Emmanuel Fernandez had already shown in the opening minutes against Ferencvaros that the Glaswegian outfit would have a long night defensively after failing to take the initiative and close down Bamidele Yusuf in the third minute, but the referees seemingly wanted to sabotage them as well.

Nasser Djiga has long wait on sidelines after receiving treatment in Ferencvaros vs Rangers
Nasser Djiga went down and had to receive treatment around the 40th minute of the game, but the defender had to wait a considerable period before being allowed to return to the pitch.
McCoist was fuming with what he saw from the fourth official at the Groupama Arena, branding it “embarrassing”.
Max Aarons also received a yellow card in the first half for coming onto the pitch after receiving treatment without Anastasios Papapetrou’s say so, which was another confusing incident.
Speaking on TNT Sports 4 on 11 December, McCoist said: “Still don’t know why they’re not letting him on. This is embarrassing.”
Once Djiga eventually came on, the Gers icon added: “Honestly, an embarrassing performance from that fourth official. No wonder the Rangers officials are having a go at him.”
Rohl opted to play five defenders at the Groupama Stadium, but in possession, it seemed like Max Aarons was playing on the right-wing, with Jayden Meghoma playing as an inverted left-back.
Danny Rohl has to axe player at Ibrox after Ferencvaros disaster
Emmanuel Fernandez has been given opportunities by Rohl amid an injury crisis at the Gers, but the former Peterborough United defender has failed to take his opportunities.
Rangers took the lead in Budapest, but they seemed to lose steam after conceding just before the break.
Fernandez’s defending for Barnaba Varga’s goal was embarrassing, with the centre-back not looking at the ball when the ball came in and turning his back to it.
The German manager has to make a bold call and drop the 24-year-old despite a lack of personnel at the back, but he can’t be relied on after consistent errors at the Glaswegian outfit.
