What Joe Aribo has said about Rangers since leaving for Southampton amid return update
Joe Aribo could be on his way back to Rangers in January.
Aribo was of interest to Aston Villa and Crystal Palace back in 2022 before he ultimately secured a move to Southampton in the Premier League.
It has been far from ideal for the midfielder at St Mary’s, with Aribo tasting relegation with Southampton last season.
Aribo could have joined Russell Martin at Rangers earlier in the season, but remained on the south coast, where he is yet to make a Championship start this season.
Aribo could make an Ibrox return in the winter window, so it begs the question: What has he said about the Light Blues since leaving?

Joe Aribo left glowing review of Rangers after exit
Gordon Dalziel said that Aribo may return to Rangers despite the general lack of noise coming from Southampton right now.
The 29-year-old knows the Govan club and could prove to be the sort of player Danny Rohl needs to help stabilise his side throughout the second half of the season.
He would be coming back to G51 on the back of three years at Southampton, where he has made 110 appearances across the Premier League and Championship.
The prospect of moving back to Ibrox could be promising for the Nigerian, especially based on his final comments after leaving in 2022.
Taking to Instagram, he said: “It’s been an amazing journey being part of this special club. I hold Rangers very close to my heart as they gave me the opportunity to showcase my talent on a bigger stage. Playing at Ibrox was a dream, and I’m glad I got to experience it.
“I’m happy I was able to play a part in the historic 55 league title-winning season. I’d like to thank everyone associated with this great club for all you’ve done for me during my time here. You’ve always made me feel welcome, and I’ve always had your full support.
“I’ve developed into an even better player, credit to the supporters who always had my back and stayed patient during the tough times. We created a lot of memories together, memories that I will carry with me throughout the rest of my career. I wish the club nothing but the best for the future, and I’ll always be checking in. Joe Aribo.
Aribo left Rangers on positive terms
The Light Blues may have reached a Europa League final, and he scored the only goal of the night for the Govan club, but his exit did make sense.
A move to the Premier League always seems to be what players want when they join Rangers, so it was little surprise when he joined the Saints.
Things haven’t exactly been perfect for the 29-year-old, and he may look to finally bring an end to his St Mary’s spell in January.
Aribo certainly departed the Gers in professional fashion and left a message that should open him up to a positive welcome.
He could come back in January and provide Rohl and Co. with a boost that may be exactly what they need at this stage.
