Rangers can pull off Jens Hjerto-Dahl transfer with ‘biggest sale in club’s history’ – Exclusive
Rangers may have to put more money on the table to sign Tromso midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl in the upcoming transfer windows.
The 20-year-old has emerged as one of the most exciting talents in Norway this year, and it isn’t surprising to see top teams eyeing his signature.
Hjerto-Dahl has emerged as a target at Ibrox, with suggestions that he could cost around £3.5million.
With Danny Rohl not fancying Lyall Cameron at the Glaswegian outfit, the Norway Under-21 international could potentially replace him in Govan, although significant investment may be needed.

Tromso will sell Rangers target Jens Hjerto-Dahl for right price
Hjerto-Dahl has been one of the best players in the Norwegian top flight this season, being nominated for the best young player award.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News TV 2 Sport Norway journalist Simon Harbo said: “Hjerto-Dahl has been one of not only Tromsø’s best players this season, but was also nominated for the best young player in the Norwegian Eliteserien.”
He added: “In May, they declined a £4.5m bid on Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh, a 19-year-old promising central defender. With Hjertø-Dahl receiving interest from other clubs in Europe, I think Rangers need to put more money on the table for Tromsø to even consider it. We’re talking about one of the biggest talents in the league.
“But Tromso are indeed preparing for a sale for the right price, so Rangers could secure him if they increase their potential bid. If so, we could be talking about the biggest sale in the club’s history.”
Jens Hjerto-Dahl: Right fit at Ibrox?
Joe Rothwell has been another disappointing midfield signing at Ibrox, but Hjerto-Dahl may not face a problem settling into Scottish football.
Harbo continued: “Hjertø-Dahl is a central midfielder with solid physicality. At 1.94 meters tall, Hjerto-Dahl is strong in duels, in the air, but also technically advanced with his short dribbles. He is able to control the pace in the game, his vision is great, and his shots are quite solid, too.
“A solid box-to-box player who is set for bigger challenges outside Norway. In my opinion, Rangers could be a good match for him — not too big of a step in his career [compared to the Premier League or Serie A], but in a physical league and opportunities to play in a European competition as well.”

Hjerto-Dahl also seems to have a big future with the national team, with the journalist saying: “Our own pundits on TV 2 recently included him in one of the 100 Norwegian players who could secure their place in the World Cup Squad next summer. If he continues his development, and especially in a foreign league, he could potentially be set for North America.”
Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises weren’t shy about spending money at Ibrox in the summer, but it remains to be seen whether they’ll take a punt at the young midfielder amid uncertainty about their recruitment structure after Kevin Thelwell’s departure.
