Nico Raskin exit talks underway with 16-time domestic champions as Rangers name their price

Turkish heavyweights Besiktas are reportedly already in talks to sign Rangers midfielder Nico Raskin in the January transfer window.

Raskin has been repeatedly linked with a Rangers exit over the past 12 months, with a number of teams on the continent having been linked.

Belgium international Raskin is under contract at Ibrox until 2028, meaning Rangers will not be forced to sell unless the right offer is made.

Now, according to Turkish journalist Ertan Suzgun, the Gers have named their price with Besiktas eager to land the midfielder.

Raskin has also impressed for Belgium at international level, meaning speculation regarding his future comes as no surprise.

Besiktas were one of the teams linked with the 24-year-old in the summer, but nothing came of the gossip.

However, Suzgun reported via his show on YouTube on Wednesday evening that Besiktas are still in talks over a possible deal for Raskin.

Suzgun adds that the Turkish side will have to spend big if they are to sign him, though, as Rangers want £15million for the former Standard Liege player.

Aston Villa, Tottenham and Leeds United are among the other teams to have been touted with a move for Raskin in recent months.

Where would Raskin rank among Rangers’ record sales?

Exits can be expected at Rangers in January, but supporters will be praying Raskin is not one of those who departs.

If £15m is tabled by 16-time Super Lig winners Besiktas, however, then Gers chiefs will feel they have no option but to cash in.

Should that happen, Raskin would be second on the list of Rangers’ all-time record sales, narrowly ahead of Nathan Patterson to Everton (up to £14m with add-ons) and behind only Calvin Bassey (£19m to Ajax).

Rangers fans are aware that big-money sales are required every now and then to help put funds back into the squad.

But with the 49ers at the helm, the hope is that not only is Raskin retained, but some quality additions are brought in alongside him.

If Rangers are to have a better year in 2026 than this one, Raskin quite simply needs to stay on at Ibrox in Glasgow.
