Scottish FA ‘to increase sanction’ after Rangers vs Kilmarnock controversy – Exclusive

Stuart Kettlewell could be in very hot water after Rangers’ win against Kilmarnock on Saturday.

Rangers beat Kilmarnock 3-0 at Rugby Park on 6 December, with two goals from Bojan Miovski and another from Mikey Moore enough.

There were plenty of flashpoints in the game, though, with Jack Butland told he was lucky to avoid a red card after terrible build-up play from the away side.

Kettlewell did get sent off, however, and it led to huge complaints that saw the Kilmarnock manager screaming at Kevin Clancy before he eventually left the sideline.

Scottish FA to hand out further punishment after Rangers win

Keith Hackett believes that the Scottish FA will be looking further into the incident that followed the red card from Clancy for Kettlewell.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, the ex-FIFA referee admitted that this altercation could lead to further punishment at Rugby Park.

“I have no doubt that the Scottish FA will look closely at this red card issued to Kettlewell,” Hackett said.

His reaction should see the SFA increase the sanction.”

Controversy didn’t stop there in Rangers vs Kilmarnock

There was a long list of possible incidents that would have left both coaches scratching their heads.

Mohamed Diomande was not punished for an apparent pull on David Watson in the box, with inconclusive evidence to show where the incident took place.

The worst was likely Bruce Anderson being flagged offside despite being five yards inside his own half, with Connor Barron making sure VAR couldn’t award any goal with a last-gasp clearance.

All Danny Rohl will care about is a return to winning ways and three points in the Scottish Premiership ahead of the busy Christmas period.

You are very unlikely to see angry reactions like this from the German, with Kettlewell likely to further pay the price for this outburst from the Scottish FA.
