Danny Rohl has already bettered Wilfried Nancy after Celtic debut loss vs Hearts

Wilfried Nancy has been welcomed to Glasgow with a bang on Sunday, with Celtic losing to Hearts in the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers beat Kilmarnock 3-0 on Saturday at Rugby Park, and watched on as the top two did battle at Parkhead to open the door to other chasers.

Danny Rohl is still unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership, with Rangers now nine points behind Hearts, and six behind Celtic, although the Old Firm have a game in hand.

With plenty of meetings between those three coming either side of the split, the Bears are still in the title race ahead of a busy Christmas period.

How did Wilfried Nancy lose Celtic debut?

Celtic lost 2-1 against Hearts on 6 December.

Despite a fast start under the Frenchman, who switched to a three-at-the-back formation, the Hoops crumbled under any sort of counterattack and were undone by Claudio Braga.

It got worse in the second half too, with Hearts’ set-piece dominance clear when Oisin McEntee headed home to seal all three points for Derek McInnes.

Nancy was often seen scratching his head with a magnetic board, trying to figure out some sort of tactics that could change the game, but it didn’t work.

How did Danny Rohl start in Scottish Premiership?

Rohl has faced most trouble in the Europa League.

Rangers’ win over Kilmarnock was not without controversy, but it proved that they can now win ugly, something they haven’t been able to do for months now.

Looking at Rohl’s start via Sofascore, he has won 46 per cent of his games, with his only three defeats coming in Europe and the Premier Sports Cup.

Mostly dominant in possession and outscoring their opposition is the minimum required at Ibrox, so the German must continue with little praise until significant achievements.

Either way, not losing in the Scottish Premiership yet means he has bettered Nancy already.

Looking at the fixtures coming up too, Rangers take on Ferencvaros in Europe before huge games against Hibernian and Hearts themselves.

If Rohl and the Light Blues can take six points from the Edinburgh clubs, then many could even class them as the new favourites for the title.

With Celtic needing time to get used to the new system of Nancy, it is time for Rangers to put their foot down on the accelerator and put pressure on those around them.
