Failed Rangers trialist now in advanced talks for Premier League transfer after 2023 Auchenhowie visit
Rangers have been heavily criticised for their recruitment in recent times with the majority of their summer signings failing to deliver.
Kevin Thelwell and Patrick Stewart were sacked by the Gers at the end of last month, paying the price for yet another underwhelming transfer window.
Rangers were fairly active in the market over the summer, but signings like Youssef Chermiti have struggled in the early stages of the campaign.
The Gers have recovered slightly since Danny Rohl replaced Russell Martin in October, but are still paying the price for their poor recruitment.

Rangers let Yan Diomande slip through their fingers
Rangers‘ issues in the transfer market were seemingly present even before the reign of Thelwell and Stewart, as winger Yan Diomande is now being eyed by Premier League giants.
Diomande had a trial at Rangers back in October 2023, even featuring in a B team game against French side Monaco.
However, the Ivory Coast international didn’t end up making the move to Ibrox, and was snapped up by Spanish side Leganes a year later.
Last summer, Diomande joined RB Leipzig for a fee of around £17million after the Bundesliga outfit triggered his release clause.
Now, according to Sky Sports Switzerland, the 19-year-old is attracting the interest of Liverpool and Tottenham.

The real reason Rangers didn’t sign Yan Diomande
It is an extremely embarrasing turn of events for Rangers that Diomande is now being linked with some of the best teams around Europe, just two years after a failed trial at Ibrox.
To make matters worse for the Glasgow outfit, the exciting winger has revealed that he wanted to make the move to Scotland, but a deal could not be agreed.
Speaking to Rangers Review back in September, Diomande explained that Rangers could not come to an agreement with his agent over wages.
He said: “I was on trial at Glasgow Rangers. It’s not true that I didn’t want to sign for them, my agent at the time demanded too much money.”
With current winger Oliver Antman struggling for Rangers this season, and now set to be out for an extended spell, it simply highlights how bad of a decision it was to let Diomande walk away.
