‘Rangers set for FIFA financial reward as benefits emerge from £270m jackpot’ – Exclusive
Rangers could reap the financial rewards of their players representing their countries on the biggest stage at the 2026 World Cup in North America.
FIFA have a £270million jackpot available, which Rangers are set to receive a piece of, with clubs rewarded financially for releasing their players.
While Danny Rohl looks to fix the domestic mess at Ibrox, the German will welcome the added windfall that comes with success on the international stage.
After Kevin Thelwell was sacked for wasting millions on transfers, this will no doubt help too.

Rangers to bank new FIFA windfall at Ibrox
Dan Plumley has insisted that it won’t be huge money for Rangers, but every small piece of windfall will continue to add up.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, the football finance expert admits that the federations take most of the money, but domestic clubs will benefit from the expanded tournament.
“It’s never going to be a huge amount of money,” Plumley said.
“The federations take most of the money, and then some of that gets distributed to the clubs.
“We’re not talking huge sums of money, but any money is good money in football, and if you are looking at an expanded World Cup and the benefits, then that is one that you would put down there.

“Of course, that is FIFA‘s message as well; that’s the benefit, it goes through the whole ecosystem, and you can benefit.
“There is a financial reward or benefit to an extended World Cup, despite the fact that from a fan point of view, we’re all nonplussed by it.”
Which Rangers star could be at the World Cup?
Rangers look set to be heavily represented in the 2026 World Cup.
John Souttar, Connor Barron and Liam Kelly could represent Scotland, while the likes of Mohamed Diomande, Thelo Aasgaard and Nicolas Raskin all look guaranteed.
Rangers will welcome the windfall with open arms, but for now, they must transform what a rotten season this has been at Ibrox already.
