Danny Rohl left stranded as Rangers show incompetence once again in comical Auchenhowie decision
Rangers have turned down Richard Gough’s offer to step in and help out behind the scenes.
On Sunday, Rangers drew 0-0 with Falkirk in the Scottish Premiership, which showed that there is still major work for the 49ers to do in the January transfer window.
Concerns have started to emerge over Danny Rohl following the result, with some arguing he might not be the man to take the Bears forward.
Rangers are preparing to offload summer signings in January, as many of Kevin Thelwell’s recruits have failed to make any impact.
However, Gough just offered the Gers a golden opportunity that would have seen the former skipper help these struggling players out.

Richard Gough says he feels sorry for Danny Rohl
Gough is still at Rangers as a club ambassador and has the responsibility of representing the Bears on an international level, attending events, and engaging with supporters.
The 63-year-old was appointed to this role in 2015 and has served the Gers for over 10 years, seeing many ups and downs at Ibrox in recent times.
- Gough won six Scottish league titles with Rangers during the late 1980s and 1990s
- He captained the Gers for several years
- Gough made over 400 appearances for the Bears
According to the Daily Record, Rangers rejected Gough’s offer to help out at Auchenhowie, and has opened up on his concerns for the Bears.
Gough said: “What do you call it when someone is struggling or should be in rehab? They need an… intervention. It’s just not getting any better. I feel sorry for the manager at the moment.”

It just goes to show how little Andrew Cavenagh and Co. actually know about how to run a successful football club.
49ers are out of touch
There’s no good reason why Rangers should have rejected Gough’s offer to help struggling players out.
Rohl can’t do it all on his own, as he’s already warned; he has a thin patience for players who do not perform to his standards.
All it’s going to result in is the 49ers costing the Bears even more money, because they’re going to have to cut their losses with the likes of Youssef Chermiti and Bojan Miovski if they want to sell in January.
Gough could have at least helped some of the straddlers step up their game, and he has every right to feel sorry for Rohl.
