James Tavernier excuses over as 2/10 teammate also embarrasses himself – Rangers player ratings vs Falkirk
Rangers produced another abject performance as they were held 0-0 by Falkirk at Ibrox on Sunday.
Danny Rohl’s perfect start in the Scottish Premiership was brought to an end as Rangers struggled to get going throughout on home soil.
A week on from Rangers fans jeering their players against Livingston, they did likewise at the midway point against Falkirk.
James Tavernier was slammed for a “terrible” moment in the first half and things did not get any better in the second 45 at Ibrox.
Here, Ibrox News rates each player’s performance out of 10.

James Tavernier unable to galvanise Rangers
Falkirk are a better side than people give them credit for, but Rangers were still expected to comfortably win this contest.
Tavernier is very much a lightening rod for supporters’ anger, though that is with good reason as he seems to go through patches where he simply cannot manage the basics.
Rangers may have kept a clean sheet, but they had next to nothing to do defensively throughout the 90 minutes in a dire game in terms of quality.
Tavernier’s deliveries were nothing short of abysmal and he was unable to galvanise his teammates. As captain, he needs to be doing far more.
While he is by no means the worst player in this Rangers side – there is plenty of competition for that – there has to be better out there than Tavernier.

A moment in the second half in particular summed things up when he did not chase down a ball – he may have been offside in fairness – and fans let their anger known.
Thelo Aasgaard needs dropping
Thelo Aasgaard was the worst Rangers player on the day, offering absolutely nothing in the final third.
In fact, he was a hindrance at times as he was killing promising looking attacking moves.
Aasgaard was poor against Livingston and it is a surprise he got the nod against Falkirk, but Rohl has surely learned his lesson now.
As Alasdair Lamont said on BBC Scotland’s coverage, Aasgaard was at the centre of a “terrible” moment in the first half when choosing the wrong option.

In one of the worst Rangers performances of the season – and that’s saying a lot – Aasgaard has the honour of being the worst player on the field.
