Mohamed Diomande axed, out-of-favour summer signing returns – Rangers predicted XI vs Falkirk

Danny Rohl has plenty of tough choices to make when naming his starting lineup for Rangers’ clash with Falkirk on Sunday.

The Bears can record five consecutive Scottish Premiership wins when they return to action at Ibrox.

Rangers’ 1-1 draw with Braga was an incredibly frustrating result, and momentum can’t be lost as they take on a buoyant Falkirk side led by John McGlynn.

Rohl has plenty of options at his disposal, and bringing in Thelo Aasgaard for Mohamed Diomande would solve some of their attacking issues in the final third.

Thelo Aasgaard returns, Danny Rohl makes three changes

Rangers are likely to make three changes against Falkirk as Rohl continues to figure out which players he can trust.

Nasser Djiga and Emmanuel Fernandez are Rangers’ only options in defence as John Souttar and Derek Cornelius continue to recover from their injuries.

Max Aarons started on Thursday, although Jayden Meghoma should come back in to retain his position at left-back.

Diomande’s red card against Braga typified his poor performances, and he ranks as the second-worst player in the Europa League this season.

Aasgaard could come in for the Ivorian, and his flair on the ball could unlock a Falkirk defence that has conceded 21 goals in 13 matches.

The Norway international has been underwhelming since signing for Rangers in the summer, and he needs to start making the most of every opportunity he gets under Rohl.

Youssef Chermiti once again failed to deliver against Braga, and Bojan Miovski could be handed the chance to prove fans wrong.

Rangers predicted XI

The 23-year-old registered four goals and one assist for Norway in five appearances as they topped their World Cup qualifying group.

However, he is yet to replicate his heroics on the international stage with the Light Blues.

Aasgaard’s only Rangers goal came against Dundee United, where he sublimely curled a finish past goalkeeper Yevhenii Kucherenko after a dazzling run.

The underlying numbers are there for him to succeed, and it’s on him to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and drive Rangers forward.

If he starts, Aasgaard can use the Falkirk match to showcase his talent on the ball and send a message to Rohl that he is far too good to remain on the bench.
