‘Diabolical’ Nasser Djiga torn to shreds as finger of blame pointed at Rangers
Nasser Djiga’s Rangers career is all but finished following his mistake against Braga on Thursday.
Rangers drew 1-1 with Braga in the Europa League at Ibrox, with any remaining hopes of progressing in the competition ended after a frustrating climax to the match.
The Bears went into the second half 1-0 up courtesy of an emphatic James Tavernier penalty, but Braga came back in the 69th minute after a truly disastrous individual error.
Djiga couldn’t deal with Braga’s long throw-in, and as a result, he flicked the ball straight into the path of Gabri Martinez, who slotted home with ease for the visitors.
The centre back has now been called a “bombscare” in a justified full-blown rant, which proves why he should never feature for the Gers again.

David Tanner warns Danny Rohl over Nasser Djiga selection
There has been speculation over Djiga leaving Rangers, with a potential return to his parent club Wolves on the cards.
However, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to see how a Premier League club could want him back, especially Wolves, who are battling relegation.
Djiga against Braga:
- Djiga made one error which led to a goal
- He missed one big chance
- Djiga didn’t make a single tackle
The Burkina Faso international fell upwards to secure a starting spot for Rangers against Braga, and Danny Rohl now faces the challenge of finding a way to avoid playing him.
While commenting on X, broadcaster David Tanner didn’t hold back on Djiga, warning Rohl about the centre-back and taking a dig at Kevin Thelwell in the process.
Tanner said: “We all know who is to blame for the diabolical signings. Danny Rohl has inherited these problems, but he faces a credibility problem if he continues to select the calamitous Nasser Djiga.
“Djiga can’t pass, he can’t tackle, his positioning is abysmal. A bomb scare.”
Thankfully for Rangers, all hope may not be lost as there is another defender who can soon replace Djiga.
Clinton Nsiala needs to play over Djiga
Rangers are suffering through the loss of Derek Cornelius because of an injury, as well as John Souttar, with the latter expected to return to fitness in December.
Rohl was somewhat backed into a corner to play Djiga because Clinton Nsiala wasn’t registered in Rangers’ 25-man Europa League squad.
The Gers’ next three games are all in the Scottish Premiership, though, which gives a massive opportunity for the Frenchman to show what he’s all about.
Rohl would not damage Rangers by selecting Nsiala over Djiga, and the German boss should treat his Braga selection as a learning curve.
