Tom English defends Youssef Chermiti after what was said on BBC coverage of Rangers vs Braga
Youssef Chermiti was unfairly targeted as Rangers drew 1-1 with Braga on Thursday.
Chermiti has struggled at Rangers since signing, but continues to be afforded chances by Danny Rohl at Ibrox.
The striker featured from the start as Rangers and Braga shared the points in yet another frustrating Europa League night in Govan.
Jack Butland had a telling say against Braga as he afforded the Light Blues forwards an opportunity to try and make an impact going forward.
Chermiti failed to get on the scoresheet in G51, but Tom English has backed his corner despite another frustrating night.

Tom English backs up Youssef Chermiti vs Braga
Rangers could soon let Chermiti leave as the January transfer window looms, but for now, he is being utilised as a starter.
The 21-year-old started against the Liga Portugal outfit and was seriously quiet from start to finish at Ibrox.
The striker remained on the pitch longer than Danilo, even after putting in such a frustrating evening’s work, before being replaced by Oliver Antman.

Chermiti missed a chance for the Light Blues, and in unsurprising fashion fluffed his lines and ended the attack without a goal once again.
The frustration was audible and visible inside Ibrox, but that didn’t stop English from defending the forward live via BBC Sportsound on 27 November.

He said: “The lads were talking about a chance for Chermiti, came over at the back post there.
“It was a tough chance, and they’ve probably only seen it once; we’ve seen it a number of times, it’s slightly behind him. It’s not a big chance that one, so a little bit of sympathy for him there.”
Chermiti could soon face Rangers exit
English may have been quick to stand up for the striker, but at this stage, there is very little reason to back him after such a shocking start to life in Govan.
The man signed from Everton did very little in the Premier League but was brought in seemingly because of his links to Kevin Thelwell.
He is now gone, leaving very little reason for Rohl and Co. to continue backing such an expensive signing who provides little impact.
Chermiti did nothing of note against Braga, and with that sort of performance level, could be facing the axe with the winter window approaching fast.
