Danny Rohl to recall forgotten youngster in two changes – Rangers predicted XI vs Braga

Rangers are set to return to European action on Thursday when they host Braga at Ibrox.

Rangers’ hopes of reaching the Europa League knockout stages are slim after losing each one of their first four matches.

Even Danny Rohl, who has had a positive start in the Scottish Premiership, has been unable to end the slump in Europe.

However, qualification is still possible, with the Gers now having four matches to try and get into the top 24.

As a result, Rohl may be tempted to make changes for their showdown with Braga, including the return of Findlay Curtis to the starting XI.

Findlay Curtis to make return vs Braga

Curtis has been a forgotten man at Rangers under Rohl.

The winger has barely had a look in, mainly being seen as an unused substitute.

However, given Mikey Moore’s recent injury at Rangers, on top of Oliver Antman’s terrible form at Ibrox, Rohl will surely be tempted to give the 19-year-old the nod to start.

The winger has already found success in Europe this season, with Curtis netting against Panathinaikos, which could further help his case.

Now, for the Braga match, Rohl is likely to stick with the same backline that played Livingston

Jack Butland remains in goal, with James Tavernier and Jayden Meghoma as the full-backs, while Nasser Djiga and Emmanuel Fernandez remain at centre-back.

Into midfield and Nico and Mohamed Diomande partner up in the centre, with Thelo Aasgaard as the number 10.

On the wings, and Curtis comes in on the left, with Djeidi Gassama moving onto the right as Antman drops out of the team.

Up top, Danilo is dropped for his terrible performance against Livingston, with Bojan Miovski taking his place.

Rangers have a solid record against Braga

Rangers have only met Braga four times, with each occurrence coming in the Europa League knockout stages.

Back in 2020, the Gers beat the Portuguese side twice over two legs, 1-0 away, and 3-2 at Ibrox.

In 2022, the two sides clashed again, with Braga actually winning the first tie in Portugal 1-0.

However, Rangers came back to win 3-1 in extra time at Ibrox to send them into the semi-finals.

Now, Rohl will be looking to repeat this magic on Thursday.
