Rangers can’t even think about doing this vs Livingston as Danny Rohl at risk

Rangers can’t lose or drop points against Livingston in the William Hill Premiership on Saturday.

Daily Record journalist Keith Jackson believes the Gers will have a massive problem if they don’t win on 22 November, as David Martindale’s team travel to Ibrox.

Danny Rohl will be gunning to close the gap with Hearts in the table, with the Light Blues still not considered out of the race for the title.

With the Glaswegian outfit looking for their fourth straight league win, the German manager may have a priority in G51.

Danny Rohl can’t let work at Rangers be diminished vs Livingston

If the Gers hit a stumbling block against Livi, that may throw everything Rohl has been able to achieve out of the window, Jackson says.

The journalist feels it’s imperative for the former Sheffield Wednesday boss to continue his good work at Ibrox with a win over Martindale’s team.

Losing points at home to the 12th-placed team may risk the German manager’s reputation among supporters, who have formed a bond with him.

Speaking on Hotline Live on 20 November, Jackson said: “If you don’t beat Livingston at home, you’ve got a massive problem. And all the good work that Rohl has done in terms of fostering a relationship, reconnecting the fans with the team, that sort of goes out the window in 90 minutes if Rangers lose or drop points. Can’t even think about doing that.”

Rohl may be without John Souttar and Derek Cornelius after their fitness issues during the international break, and it will be interesting to see how the Light Blues set up their defence against Livingston.

Martindale’s team have won just one league game this season, undoubtedly making it a winnable fixture for the Glaswegian outfit.

Danny Rohl can cement title challenger status at Ibrox

While the winter transfer window may be crucial for Rohl at Ibrox, as whoever wins the recruitment race could potentially become favourites in the William Hill Premiership, the German manager has the opportunity to close the gap with Hearts in the coming weeks.

Rangers should be confident about getting the three points against the likes of Livi, Dundee United and Kilmarnock, while Derek McInnes’ team show signs of weakness.

Celtic could do the Gers a favour by beating Hearts at Parkhead on 7 November, setting up an enticing clash for Rohl at Tynecastle Park on 21 December.

The Light Blues are 12 points behind the Jambos, but have a game in hand, and if results go the German manager’s way, they could significantly close the gap in the William Hill Premiership before the turn of the year.
