Danny Rohl issues ‘clear’ stance on Rangers fans booing his players vs Livingston

Rangers fans booed their players off at half-time at Ibrox against Livingston on Saturday.

In the second half, the Bears scraped through as Rangers beat Livingston 2-1 to extend their winning run in the Scottish Premiership.

Emmanuel Fernandez may have been lucky not to have conceded a penalty after a controversial moment in the first half saw the ball strike his hand inside the Gers’ box.

The centre-back opened the scoring in the first 45, but after being pegged back by a Tete Yengi equaliser, Ibrox was not happy after the halftime whistle went.

Rohl has now shared his thoughts on what is “clear” to him following the situation.

Danny Rohl didn’t want emotion to affect Rangers players

The victory sees Rangers move to a four-game win streak in the Scottish Premiership, putting further pressure on Celtic and Hearts, who sit just ahead of them in the table.

Multiple Rangers players came under fire for their performances, but it was clear to see that Gers fans weren’t happy with the team as a whole come half half-time against Livi.

Rangers’ first-half stats vs Livingston:

While speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Rohl acknowledged the disappointment from Gers fans and wants his players to put things right moving forward.

Rohl said: “I can understand this, when we play against the bottom of the table, then everyone wants to see more goals and exciting football.

“My mind is very clear, I know what I have to give to my players. I’m not emotional at half-time; it’s about giving them a solution.”

Having just been in the job for a small amount of time, result aside, it’s clear to see that Rohl is the perfect man for Rangers.

Rangers don’t need an emotional head coach; they need a smart one

As Rohl alluded to, he doesn’t want to come across as emotional to his players when things aren’t going right.

Russell Martin seemed to blame players after every game, and look where that got him and the Bears.

Rohl has not only proved that he is sound tactically, but also a fantastic man-to-man coach, which is exactly what the Gers have been crying out for.

A bond is starting to grow between Rohl and the Rangers fans, and the German only wants to give back to passionate supporters.
