Clinton Nsiala has chance to repeat Rangers brilliance after fresh Ibrox developments
Clinton Nsiala will be wondering what he’s done wrong as he’s been out in the cold for months at Rangers.
The former AC Milan defender signed for the Gers last summer and slowly started to establish himself in the first team under Philippe Clement.
But after being ostracised by Barry Ferguson and Russell Martin, Nsiala was being linked with an exit from Ibrox in the summer, but a move didn’t materialise.
With Nasser Djiga letting Danny Rohl down this season, the French defender may now have an opportunity to replicate his prospects from the previous campaign.

Rangers injury crisis to give Clinton Nsiala another chance
John Souttar and Leon Balogun’s fitness issues and Robin Propper’s underwhelming performances last season led to Nsiala’s emergence at the Gers.
Clement had to deal with a fitness crisis midway through the 2024-25 season and turned towards the 22-year-old defender at Ibrox.
The young centre-back started seven league games in a row between January and February, putting in some brilliant performances.
However, after making a few errors, Ferguson dropped Nsiala from the squad, and he’s since struggled to get back into the team.
With Souttar and Derek Cornelius now sidelined for a few weeks, the former Milan ace could potentially get his opportunity sooner rather than later.
It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Frenchman get a few minutes in the upcoming matches, but it remains to be seen how Rohl will handle the crisis.
Danny Rohl makes John Souttar and Derek Cornelius admission
Emmanuel Fernandez is another defender who will be hoping for his opportunities at Ibrox after the Glaswegian outfit’s injury blows.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on 21 November, Rohl said: “I hope John and Mikey are back by the end of December. With muscle injuries, it could be 25 days or 40 days; you never know. With Derek, I doubt it will be four or five weeks; it could be longer.”

With some crucial fixtures coming up in the William Hill Premiership, those who haven’t played many minutes this season will have to step up to prove they should have a future in G51.
Nsiala and Fernandez alike have to take the bull by the horns and see where it takes them.
