Danny Rohl has major Rangers priority after Kemar Roofe Ibrox reveal

Kemar Roofe has warned Danny Rohl that he may not get much time at Rangers.

The former Gers forward, who won the league title under Steven Gerrard in G51, has noticed that managers who don’t start well in Govan often get sacked soon after.

Russell Martin lasted just 123 days at Ibrox after leading the Light Blues to their worst start in the league since 1978.

Rohl has managed to turn the tide in the William Hill Premiership to a certain extent, with many dismissing the idea of ruling out the Glaswegian outfit from the title race, but it remains to be seen how the German manager’s situation unfolds.

Kemar Roofe has hope for Danny Rohl at Rangers

Roofe, who recently signed for Sky Bet League Two outfit Walsall, wants to see Rohl succeed at the Gers after a few years of turmoil in Govan.

While patience often runs thin with managers at Ibrox, the former Sheffield Wednesday boss seems to have struck a connection with fans.

The Light Blues are 12 points behind table-toppers Hearts, but the 36-year-old head coach has an opportunity to close the distance with consistent results in the coming weeks.

Speaking on BBC’s Sacked in the Morning on 19 November, Roofe said: “I hope so [Rohl takes them forward]. Obviously, time will tell. And we go back to patience and time with managers, and at a club like Rangers, they don’t get that time. What I’ve noticed is that the managers that don’t start well don’t last long at all.”

Rohl’s next test will be against Livingston at home on 22 November, and fans will certainly believe it’s winnable.

Livi are bottom of the table in the league and the German manager has a massive opportunity to get his fourth straight win in the William Hill Premiership.

Danny Rohl has starting lineup dilemma vs Livingston at Ibrox

John Souttar’s injury on international duty with Scotland gave the Glaswegian outfit something to think about in terms of their starting lineup against Livingston.

As if one fitness issue wasn’t enough for Rangers, they now also have to worry about the condition of Derek Cornelius, who was forced off at around the half-hour mark in Canada’s 2-0 win over Venezuela on 19 November.

Souttar and Cornelius’ Gers records this season

The Gers arguably have a dearth of quality at centre-back, with Nasser Djiga and Emmanuel Fernandez not really living up to expectations.

Clinton Nsiala has also been missing this season, and it will be interesting to see how Rohl sets up the team if Souttar and Cornelius are unavailable.
