Ianis Hagi to Rangers invincible – Players to like John Souttar’s ‘special’ Scotland post

John Souttar helped make history with Scotland this week.

Souttar was a late drop-out as Scotland beat Denmark 4-2 at Hampden Park to qualify for their first World Cup since 1998, but the Rangers star more than played his part throughout.

Rangers are awaiting more positive news after a troubled few weeks for Souttar, who has struggled when called upon, with this injury a possible reason.

With Derek Cornelius also picking up an injury during the final international break of the year, Danny Rohl will hope that nothing else crops up at Auchenhowie.

Either way, Souttar is clearly delighted with the achievement, and so he should be.

John Souttar makes history away from Rangers

With Rohl yet to speak to the media, Rangers fans are awaiting more positive news.

Away from that, Souttar took to his personal Instagram account on Thursday to celebrate the achievement with Scotland, posting a throwback image to 1998.

Among those to like the post were Ianis Hagi, Borna Barisic, Hamza Igamane and even two Englishmen in Jack Butland and James Tavernier.

Billy Gilmour and Che Adams also responded, with Scotland finally ending their 27-year wait with a huge return to the World Cup in North America.

The countdown is officially on.

Scotland avoided the dreaded play-off, with Denmark taking that spot with a tricky home game against North Macedonia in the semi-final.

Should they win that, it would be either the Republic of Ireland or the Czech Republic away from home in a 90-minute shootout for qualification.

Thankfully, the World Cup spot is already booked.

What is next for Rangers after John Souttar injury worry

Rangers are set for an Ibrox triple header in the next week.

Livingston are first up in Govan on Saturday, before Braga come to town in the Europa League on Thursday, with both must-win fixtures.

They are then followed by another Scottish Premiership newcomer in Falkirk, who will take on Rangers at Ibrox on 30 November.

It is still unknown whether or not Souttar will be fit.
