Rangers have Europa League uncertainty as Danny Rohl to shift focus
Danny Rohl should shift focus to the William Hill Premiership if qualification in the Europa League looks out of reach at Rangers.
Former Gers midfielder Alex Rae has been baffled by the Glaswegian outfit’s prospects in Europe this season, given their decent campaigns in recent years.
Rohl has a mountain to climb in the Europa League, with the Light Blues predicted to finish towards the bottom of the table.
Roma’s dominant performance at Ibrox on 6 November highlighted the lack of quality in G51, and the German manager may be better off trying to turn the tide in the league.

Rangers can give Hearts and Celtic run for their money
Rae has been impressed by the work Rohl has done in a short spell, winning three back-to-back games in the William Hill Premiership.
The Light Blues have a game in hand over Hearts as they sit 12 points off the top of the table, but that may soon change as Derek McInnes’ team have shown cracks in recent matches.
In the coming weeks, the Glaswegian outfit have some winnable fixtures against the likes of Livingston, Dundee United and Kilmarnock before facing Hearts at Tynecastle Park on 21 December.
Speaking on PLZ Soccer on 17 November, Rae said: “It’s funny because the European football this season has been the polar opposite of what it has been for the last five or six years. And this guy has come in and has managed to get three wins on the bounce.”
The Scotsman added: “If it looks like they’re not going to qualify out of this league format, then really focus on the league and try to bridge that gap to Hearts and Celtic.”
Rohl can still give Hearts and Celtic a run for their money, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Gers close the gap further in the league table.
Andrew Cavenagh can guarantee title for Danny Rohl at Ibrox
Kevin Thelwell has revealed Rohl will be backed in the winter transfer window, but it remains to be seen what sort of funds will be available.
Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises had a net spend of around £20million in the summer, with the former Everton chief’s 12 signings underwhelming at Rangers.

The German manager has managed to get the best out of the players at his disposal, but one area that could undoubtedly be improved is the number nine position, as Youssef Chermiti and Bojan Miovski struggle.
A reliable goalscorer may be able to guarantee the league title at Ibrox, and Cavenagh should think about the possibility of another spending spree in January.
