Norwich fans need to know these three things about Philippe Clement’s time at Rangers
Philippe Clement has returned to management with Norwich, just nine months after he was sacked by Rangers.
Clement was sacked after his Rangers side were defeated by St. Mirren in February, with the Gers sitting 13 points behind Celtic.
Rangers fans will soon see Clement back in the dugout, as he attempts to revive his reputation and put his spell in Scotland behind him.
It was not all doom and gloom during his Ibrox reign, which lasted 498 days, and here is what Norwich supporters need to know.
He started his Rangers tenure excellently
Clement arrived at Rangers with a stellar reputation from his time with Club Brugge, but his 18 months at Monaco had reduced his standing.
However, the Belgian started his time in Govan in brilliant fashion, bringing the Gers back into title contention.
His side started with a 16-game unbeaten streak, a defeat to Celtic, then another 14-match unbeaten run before they ran out of steam.
Ultimately, they were pipped to the post by Brendan Rodgers’ side, but he brought the excitement back, and expectations were high for the following campaign.

The Canaries fans will hope that he can have the same immediate impact in East Anglia.
Philippe Clement inherited a chaotic situation at Rangers
The boardroom was chaotic when Clement was in the dugout in Glasgow, and he could not recover from the infighting behind the scenes.
In his first summer in charge, after their arch-rivals had beaten them to the title, Chief Executive James Bisgrove departed, chairman John Bennett stepped down, and the Gers began their season away from their Ibrox home.
There was a lack of communication, and the manager was often left to deal with the fallout from the off-field issues in G51.
The instability at the top level did not help Clement, and meant that he was fighting a losing battle to try and catch the Hoops, who had the resources that the Light Blues could only dream about.
Clement will stick to his principles
Whether rightfully or wrongly, the 50-year-old will stick to his principles and try to turn the squad around in the way that he wants.
The ex-Rangers man wants his team to play with authority, to take control of matches and be solid at the back, and he will not compromise on that.
He is a no-nonsense manager, and that can rub players up the wrong way, but he will not concern himself with that, as he already knows that it can turn squads around.
The Carrow Road side find themselves 23rd in the Championship, four points from safety, and they need Clement’s ways to work if they are to survive.
