Nico Raskin hailed for ‘pitbull’ role away from Rangers as Belgium qualify for World Cup
Nico Raskin has been praised for his performance as Belgium overcame Liechtenstein 7-0 on Tuesday.
Raskin is one of many Rangers players currently away on international duty, with the midfielder in the Belgium squad.
It was a routine win for the Red Devils as they confirmed their qualification to the World Cup in 2026.
Raskin, who started in Belgium’s draw against Kazakhstan last week, kept his place in the starting lineup.
Here, the midfielder would go on to impress on Tuesday, with plenty of Belgian media outlets praising his performance.

Nico Raskin ‘revelled’ role against Liechtenstein
While Raskin may continuously be linked away from Rangers, he continues to perform on international duty.
On Tuesday, Raskin played the full 90 minutes in the victory for Belgium.
While the midfielder did not pick up a goal or an assist, it was a solid outing from the Rangers star.

- He has since become a regular earning nine caps to date
- Raskin will be aiming to secure a place in the starting XI ready for the upcoming World Cup
This was recognised by multiple media outlets in his home country, with the 24-year-old being praised for his performance in the World Cup qualifier.
DH Les Sports on 18 November rated the star a 7/10 before writing: “Back at Sclessin, he revelled in his pitbull role. He would have loved to score his own goal.”

In comparison, RTBF on 18 November gave the Rangers midfielder a 6/10 putting: “Back at his home ground in Sclessin, he lived up to expectations and played the full 90 minutes for the third consecutive time. He now has 6 starts in 9 matches under Garcia.”
What were Raskin’s stats against Liechtenstein?
According to Fotmob on 19 November, Raskin had a great game on Tuesday.
The midfielder had a passing completion of 96 per cent, while also creating two chances and having two shots.
