Nico Raskin’s plan for Rangers future under Danny Rohl emerges amid transfer exit links
Nico Raskin’s father has confirmed that the Rangers star midfielder is not looking to leave the club in January.
The Belgian’s future looked complicated earlier this season as Russell Martin froze Raskin out of the Rangers first team during a dreadful start to the campaign, and he has frequently been linked with moves away.
But he worked his way back into the side and the Englishman was sacked, to be replaced by Danny Rohl, and he scored his first of the season as Rangers beat Dundee 3-0 prior to the international break.
Thierry Raskin has indicated that despite rumours of there being issues within the squad at Ibrox this was not the case, with teammates apparently getting in touch with Raskin junior after the midfielder scored on international duty.

The 24-year-old’s father said, via DH Net in Belgium: “The coach and Nicolas have often been pitted against each other, when the issue was much broader.
“People said Nicolas was having problems with his teammates, but when he scored against Kazakhstan, his Scottish national teammates called him to congratulate him…”.
Tottenham have been linked to signing Raskin from Rangers in the January transfer window, and there are rumours of Serie A interest, but according to his father that is currently not part of the plan.

Although the upcoming World Cup means a decision on the player’s future can’t be taken lightly it is currently Rohl’s plans that hold more attraction as the German is someone “who wants to rebuild something great,” at Ibrox, according to Raskin senior.
Raskin sale worth it if revamp can be made
Rangers know they are in a position where nobody is ever off limits if the right offer arrives, so if big money is put on the table for arguably their best player then it has to be considered, even midseason.
Since the Light Blues are, once again, in the position of having spent the summer transfer window bringing in players for one man who has now gone there is always the possibility that Rohl will see the sacrifice as worthwhile if he could get on two or three replacements of his own.
Raskin has always had grand ambitions for post-Rangers but has arguably failed to always justify the expectations around him, despite often impressing in fits and starts.
It is positive that Rohl appears to have buy in at this stage, but it is coming up to three years since Raskin arrived at Ibrox, and having broken into the Belgium side with some regularity this year it wouldn’t be a huge shock for a transfer to be not far down the line.
