Bojan Miovski told he can’t get away with what’s happened at Rangers

Bojan Miovski has completely lost his goalscoring abilities since joining Rangers in the summer transfer window.

After two successful seasons at Aberdeen, the 26-year-old was tipped to be one of the better signings sanctioned by Kevin Thelwell.

Miovski was Russell Martin’s starting striker in the Scottish Premiership, but he has only scored one goal in the league this season.

Since Danny Rohl’s arrival at Rangers, Miovski has been rotated out of the starting lineup more frequently, and it’s clear that the pressure of playing in Govan is affecting his performance levels.

Former Celtic defender Charlie Mulgrew believes that Miovski is struggling to adapt to the demands that are placed on him.

Bojan Miovski’s time at Aberdeen is completely different to Rangers

Miovski moved to Rangers from Girona in the final week of the transfer window, making eight starts for Gers.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show Podcast on 13 November, Mulgrew demanded more from the North Macedonian.

He said: “When you play for Aberdeen, you can get away with not scoring for three or four weeks.

“At Rangers, you don’t get six or seven games to find your feet. You’re in the spotlight and you need to hit the ground running, and that’s why there are question marks around him.”

The North Macedonia international spent two prolific years at Aberdeen, and he joined the Bears knowing the ins and outs of Scottish football.

Miovski was poor against Dundee, and it’s clear that he is playing with a lack of confidence.

The 26-year-old performed well in the Premier Sports Cup victory against Hibs, but he never managed to kick on from his opening goal for the Light Blues.

At Rangers, the scrutiny on players is at a completely different level to anything he’s experienced, and he is one of the many summer signings who have failed to show character during the tricky start to the season.

Miovski has to compete with Youssef Chermiti and Danilo for two spots up front, and his terrible run of form could harm his first-team minutes in the future.

Danilo’s emergence spells trouble for Bojan Miovski

Rohl entrusted Danilo to start alongside Bojan Miovski against Kilmarnock on 26 October, and the Brazilian scored a brilliant goal on his return to action.

Danilo was on the periphery of Martin’s plans, but Rohl has placed a huge amount of faith in him up front.

His winning goal against Hibs on 29 October sealed a vital three points in Rohl’s first away match, and Miovski will have to start matching his output.

With all of Rangers’ players desperate to prove themselves, Miovski’s future in Govan could quickly become in doubt.
