Danny Rohl has surely sealed January exit for ‘outstanding’ Rangers star after what he’s done at Ibrox

Danny Rohl’s positive impact at Rangers so far hasn’t quite stretched to everybody throughout the club.

The German has taken maximum points from his opening three Premiership games in charge as he and his team work to try and close the 12-point gap to Hearts at the top of the table.

Ally McCoist hailed Rohl’s impact at Rangers on talkSPORT recently, and it’s fair to suggest that he has completely turned the atmosphere in Govan on its head within his first few weeks in charge.

The 36-year-old has restored a renewed sense of optimism and belief at Ibrox, both within the squad and the fanbase, but his impact hasn’t quite been universally positive for everyone.

Danny Rohl snub has sealed Nedim Bajrami’s fate at Rangers

Rohl’s arrival at Rangers has seen a handful of players like Mohamed Diomande be recalled from the fringes of the squad to the forefront of the new boss’ plans.

The former Sheffield Wednesday chief has clearly been keen to take a close look at almost everyone at his disposal within the group, but that makes it all the more damning on those who are still yet to feature during his reign.

One of those men is Nedim Bajrami, who has played 59 minutes of Premiership action so far in 2025-26 and hasn’t kicked a ball in club football since 5 October.

The Albania international had fallen out of favour under Russell Martin, and that has only been exacerbated further since Rohl stepped through the door.

The winger has only made one solitary appearance in the matchday squad for the Gers since the boss’ appointment, and that came in Sunday’s 3-0 win over Dundee, when he wasn’t introduced from the bench, despite the comfortable scoreline.

Rohl’s arrival has handed fresh opportunities to some members of the squad, but his consistent snubbing of Bajrami will surely result in a swift exit in the January window.

‘Outstanding’ Nedim Bajrami has totally underperformed at Ibrox

Bajrami was in talks to leave Rangers at one stage in the summer, and it feels like an inevitability that his exit will actually materialise this time around.

Albania boss Sylvinho singled out the wideman as being an “outstanding” talent (relayed in the Scottish Sun) shortly after he joined the Gers back in 2024, but he simply hasn’t come close to living up to expectations at Ibrox.

The former Sassuolo star had enjoyed several seasons of excellent productivity in Serie A, but that translated across to just three league goal involvements in his debut campaign in Scotland last term.

He has shown occasional flashes of the brilliance that he has produced at other stages of his career, but the consistency simply hasn’t been there for a man who cost £3.6million.

It is telling that Rohl has seen him in training and has opted against handing him any minutes so far, and as a result, there is surely no one at Rangers who would be sad to see the back of him in January.
