Ally McCoist in complete agreement with Alan Brazil’s surprising Rangers admission

Ally McCoist has agreed with Alan Brazil’s assessment regarding Rangers’ current standing under new boss Danny Rohl.

Rangers triumphed in a 3-0 victory over Dundee in the Scottish Premiership just before the November international break.

This came after a 1-0 away win over Hibernian and a 3-1 victory over Kilmarnock at Ibrox to make it three consecutive victories for Rohl in the league.

Rohl arrived at Ibrox to turn their season around, and if the Gers’ current form continues, he is set to do just that.

Alan Brazil offers surprise Rangers praise

It is not hard to imagine Brazil jumping for joy during Rangers’ 3-1 defeat to Celtic in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final earlier this month.

But the change at Ibrox has been undeniable to the point where the former Tottenham forward gave his stamp of approval.

“I think Rangers now are in a much healthier position. Forget the finance, deep holes and all that. I’m talking about the performances, the harmony,” Brazil told talkSPORT on 12 November.

“Yes, I agree, I agree,” McCoist chimed in.

Brazil added: “I think Rangers suddenly now have got something where they can build on. Whereas Celtic are fine and I think Celtic will catch Hearts, but it depends on who takes the reins next, that’s the big question.”

Given his allegiance to Celtic, Brazil is usually quick to take a dig at Rangers, so his admission comes as a surprise.

A few weeks ago, there were doubts over whether Celtic or Rangers could catch up to league leaders Hearts.

But with the Jam Tarts dropping four points in their last three games, both clubs could be in with a fighting chance to overtake them.

Danny Rohl showed exactly how he wants Rangers to play vs Dundee

Under Russell Martin, the Gers were often on the back foot in the Premiership, which it goes without saying is not acceptable.

Rohl’s Rangers have been dominant, as seen against Dundee:

The Gers were also the better defensive team. Indeed, they won 54 per cent of their total duels, 55 per cent of their ground duels and were dispossessed only seven times, according to Sofascore.

This display of domination is what a team as well-established as Rangers should strive towards.

From their win over Dundee, it’s clear that Rohl’s Rangers will look to dominate all areas on the pitch, and this could propel them into title contention.
