‘Bojan Miovski absolutely raging in Rangers dressing room after win vs Dundee’

Bojan Miovski will be wondering what he’s done wrong as Rangers beat Dundee 3-0 on Sunday, Kris Boyd says.

The North Macedonia international was taken off at half-time as Danny Rohl’s team won at Dens Park on 9 November, as they closed the gap on Hearts in the league.

Winning the William Hill Premiership at Ibrox this season seems unrealistic, with the Gers 12 points behind the Jambos, albeit with a game in hand.

The German manager also arguably doesn’t have the best squad at his disposal, with the goalscoring dilemma at the Glaswegian outfit growing by the game.

Danny Rohl must trust Bojan Miovski at Rangers

Miovski can’t be expected to settle in at the Gers if he isn’t given regular minutes, Boyd says.

The former Scottish forward believes the 26-year-old must’ve been fuming in the dressing room after being taken off at the break against Dundee.

It seems like Rohl trusts Youssef Chermiti more at Ibrox, but the Portugal Under-21 international hasn’t justified his place ahead of the North Macedonian striker in the pecking order.

Speaking on Go Ballistic on 10 November, Boyd said: “Miovski, if I’m him, I’m absolutely raging in that dressing room yesterday. It wasn’t the best performance, but as a goalscorer, you’re looking at Chermiti, he’s been given minutes, he’s not taking his chance.”

“Miovski gets 45 minutes, but as a striker, you want to go 60, 65 or 70 minutes, defences start to turn, then all of a sudden you get your chances. You can then find your rhythm. This 45 minutes here and there, Miovski will never get up to speed.”

Miovski doesn’t seem to fit the playing style at Ibrox, but Rohl should look to use the forward’s ability to get in behind defences to get the best out of him.

Danny Rohl to demand one key reinforcement in January at Ibrox, and no it’s not a striker

Rohl will be expected to strengthen at Ibrox in the winter transfer window, and the German manager should look to make the defence his priority.

Nasser Djiga, Max Aarons, Emmanuel Fernandez and Jayden Meghoma were signed in the summer, but apart from the Brentford loanee, none of the others have lived up to expectations at Rangers.

Derek Cornelius seems to be an astute signing at the Gers, but he’s arguably been the only shining light in the backline this season.

John Souttar’s form has taken a drastic dip, with the Light Blues still having to rely on James Tavernier at right-back, and a new defender should be high on their agenda in January.
