Rangers could be handed a get-out-of-jail card with Nasser Djiga recall after Wolves developments

Nasser Djiga has become another of Kevin Thelwell’s biggest Rangers failures so far.

Youssef Chermiti has been another terrible summer signing by Thelwell, as Danny Rohl is at a clear disadvantage with this Gers squad.

Djiga has had nothing but poor performances for Rangers since arriving on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, with the Bears’ defence seeming to suffer every time he plays.

Perhaps the only positive about Djiga is that he didn’t cost the Bears a transfer fee; however, they could now receive some much-needed good fortune in January.

Wolves recalling Nasser Djiga looks more likely than ever

There are clear reasons behind this season’s poor displays from many individuals, as Russell Martin did little to raise the quality of Rangers’ players.

However, Djiga is still only 22 years old and may still have a successful career, but that cannot be with Rangers.

The Gers are keeping tabs on centre-back Mujaid Sadick, as Djiga could depart from Ibrox soon.

Tom English is one of many who have not been impressed by Djiga and recently insisted that the defender is “not good enough” for Rangers’ level.

Speaking in the Roma defeat, English said: “I worry, like everybody would worry, about Djiga.

“I don’t know why he’s in the team, I don’t think he’s good enough.”

However, Wolves are currently sitting at rock bottom in the Premier League with just two points, and they just conceded another three goals to Chelsea on Saturday.

Middlesbrough head coach Rob Edwards is on the verge of being appointed by Wolves after the sacking of Vitor Pereira, and could even look to recall Djiga once the January window opens.

How can Djiga be recalled by Wolves?

Djiga is on a long-term contract at Wolves, as the Championship-bound side will have high hopes for the young centre-back to play an important role at Molineux in the coming years.

He is struggling to find form and confidence at Rangers, and at this rate, he needs to be recalled as it makes sense for all parties.

For his contract to be terminated at Rangers, a mutual agreement needs to be reached between all parties.

However, that shouldn’t prove to be a difficult obstacle, as there’s no doubt Djiga will feel uncomfortable about his current treatment at the Gers.

That’s not to say the stick is unjustified, but in football, sometimes things just don’t work out, and Wolves may feel they cannot harm by bringing him back.
