Dundee vs Rangers preview: Team news, lineups, prediction

Rangers are set to return to Scottish Premiership action on Sunday when they travel to Dundee.

Danny Rohl has had a tough start to life at Rangers, with the manager losing three of his first five matches.

His miserable start got worse on Thursday as the Gers were defeated 2-0 against Roma at Ibrox.

However, in the Scottish Premiership, Rohl has won both his first two matches, and he will be aiming to continue this run against Dundee on the weekend.

Head-to-head

Rangers have a fantastic recent record against Dundee. In their last 18 clashes, the Gers are unbeaten.

Their last defeat came back in 2017, when the Glaswegians suffered a 2-1 loss at Dens Park.

More recently, the previous meeting between the two sides this season ended in a 1-1 draw at Ibrox.

In this match, James Tavernier was forced to rescue a point from the penalty spot in added time.

Team news and predicted lineups

Dujon Sterling, Kieran Dowell and Rabbi Matondo are set to remain out for Rangers.

However, there should not be any more injury concerns after the defeat to Roma.

For Dundee, Joe Westley could be ruled out of the tie after he was taken off with an injury against Hearts last weekend.

Apart from that, the rest of the hosts’ squad should be fit for the game.

Prediction: Dundee 0-2 Rangers

As poor as Rangers have been recently, they surely have enough quality to overcome Dundee.

The hosts are on a terrible run of form, and Rohl has proven that he is able to pick up results in the Scottish Premiership.

Therefore, a routine 2-0 victory will be expected, with the Gers having little trouble picking up three points.

If not, Rohl may find himself under early pressure in the job, especially after his inconsistent start.
