Darrell Currie hits out at ‘vile’ response to what he said about Rangers vs Celtic
Darrell Currie has come under fire after slamming refereeing decisions as Rangers lost to Celtic at Hampden Park.
Celtic secured a 3-1 win over Rangers in the League Cup semi-final on Sunday, but the Old Firm didn’t go without controversy.
Danny Rohl’s side were forced to play with 10 men for over 50 minutes after Thelo Aasgaard was sent off for Rangers.
Fury overtook the Light Blues when Auston Trusty avoided red for a kick out on Jack Butland, sparking widespread conversation throughout Scottish football.
Currie was outspoken on the refereeing calls and has since come under increased scrutiny on social media.

Darrell Currie hits back on social media after Celtic comments
Rangers released a statement after the Celtic defeat to complain about the refereeing calls that continue to leave fans and players frustrated.
Referee Nick Walsh didn’t send off the Hoops’ centre-back, despite his foot clearly making contact with Butland’s head off the ball.
Following this decision, Currie took to social media to question how many times head of referee operations Willie Collum can say sorry to negatively impacted clubs.
He said: “How many apologies will Willie be handing out? It’s guesswork. Zero consistency in decisions. I’ve said it for a long time.“
The broadcaster has been asked questions by Celtic fans about other decisions in the Hampden clash that went against them.
With the nature of social media, it is little surprise that many supporters overstepped the mark, and now Currie has hit out at those with a response.
He replied: “Incredible, some of the vile replies to this. Yes, I was talking about bad decisions for both teams. Many of which I discussed and brought up on the Premier Sports Social Club on Monday night.
“Thanks for all your kindness. Lovely in the midst of a health crisis.”
Rangers let down by poor decisions vs Celtic
The Light Blues have a somewhat positive recent record against their bitter rivals, but didn’t capitalise on it at Hampden.
Celtic arguably deserved to secure a place in the final based on the number of chances they created, although that was largely down to playing against 10 men.
Aasgaard’s red card could have gone either way, despite appearing to be completely accidental, but if that was the case, surely Trusty’s challenge had to match in terms of punishment?
That wasn’t the case and has resulted in complaints from Rangers, with neutrals in agreement that Walsh got it wrong.
Celtic fans haven’t taken their victory graciously and have instead gone after Currie in a bizarre social media tirade over the past few days.
